Job Requirements:
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Records or Health Information Management and an active RHIA certification.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience in a hospital Medical Record environment (Assistant Director or Director or equivalent).
Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
RHIA certification
Job Description:
The employee is responsible for the planning, organizing, staffing, influencing and marketing the activities of Medical Information Services in such a manner that the Hospital's goals and objective are obtained. Responsible for assuring maintenance of medical records in both paper and electronic environments for review and analysis of records to assure internal consistency and completeness, for release of information to appropriate agencies and for the coordination of chart availability for direct patient care, physicians, auditors, committees and other reviewing agencies.
