Job Requirements:
Education
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related science
Experience
4 years of progressively more responsible related work experience, after certification
Skills
· Advanced knowledge of biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics as well as the clinical medical areas of hematology, serology, microbiology
· Skill to coordinate, direct, and assign work to subordinates
· Skill in written and oral communication
· Skill in investigative and analytical techniques
· Ability o resolve technical problems, abnormal and atypical results
· Ability to explain hospital and departmental policies and procedures
Licensures, Certifications
· Certification by a recognized certifying agency defining a minimum level of general knowledge in medical technology or specialized knowledge in the laboratory supervised.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail
Working Conditions
· Works in an environment that has an acceptable yet moderate noise level.
· Subject to fluctuations in the internal environment.
· Subject to eyestrain due to performance of normal laboratory work.
· Comes in contact with hazardous chemicals, reagents and infectious materials.
Job Description:
Under general supervision, the Clinical Laboratory oversees the operation of the Clinical Laboratory in order to provide efficient, high quality, cost-effective laboratory service. The Clinical Supervisor shares responsibility for the following aspects of the Clinical Laboratory: financial performance, human resource management, materials management, continuous improvement, customer service and quality assurance.
