Job Requirements:

Ability to interpret and execute MMC policies, procedures and to effectively organize and manage a large Health Information Management Department acquired during more than seven years of progressive experience including supervisory and director responsibilities.
Highly developed interpersonal verbal and written communication skills to deal productively with customers.
Knowledge of budgets, human resource issues and policies, management and financial and patient billing practices.
Knowledge of medical center wide operations.
Knowledge of hospital and physician billing and coding practices.
Masters Degree preferred. Credentialed as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) by the American Health Information Management Association or RHIA eligible and credentialed within 1 year of employment.
Job Description:
The Senior Director, Health Information Management (HIM), PMI (Performance Management and Innovation) provides overall direction and leadership for Health Information Management services provided to Maine Medical Center and outpatient centers, achieving a balance between new technology, health information demands and cost effectiveness. The Senior Director works with affiliates driving standardization in HIM for integration from Legacy systems to EPIC and ensures consistency in education programs, timely regulatory updates, proper documentation standards, and adherence to compliance initiatives. He/she ensures policy and practice standardization in all areas of Health Information Management across all facilities. The Senior Director also has responsibility for planning, organizing and directing all functions within the Health Information Management Department (HIM), Medical Records, Transcription, Clinical Documentation Improvement Education and Coding operations.
