Experience Required: Infection Prevention & Control - 3 years
Bachelors degree with emphasis in clinical quality improvement, microbiology, epidemiology, nursing or related field. Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) required. 3 years recent health care and infection prevention & control experience required.
Job Description:
Supports executive, administrative and medical staff leadership, clinical and operational staff with initiatives to improve quality, prevent healthcare associated infections and ensure mandatory compliance with infection control, prevention, reporting and education. Oversees and promotes accreditation and regulatory compliance with all relevant infection control and prevention standards and required communicable disease reporting. Supports Hospital Leadership with hiring of IPs, to ensure that IPs are trained, to keep system IPs aware of all regulatory and accreditation standards. Oversees the mandatory reporting of infections to CMS which impacts the system¿s public transparency, pay for performance programs, and penalty programs. This position is responsible for managing/overseeing specific system projects. Oversees and manages Sentara hospitals' participation in the Center for Disease Control (CDC) National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) System.
