Job Requirements:

MSN, MBA, or MHA. Three years as a Manager of a Hospital Quality Improvement and/or Risk Management Program. Required: Bachelor Degree required. Two years experience in Quality/Risk Management Program as well as prior experience that demonstrates clinical and leadership competence.

Job Description:

Initiates and promotes the development and assures the implementation of the Organizational Plan for Improving Performance and the strategic plan for Total Quality Management. Ensures compliance of the organization with the Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, state and other licensing or accrediting bodies. Proactively promotes a culture that embraces best practice quality assurance and performance improvement. Meets organizational expectations as defined by the Employee Standards of Performance, hospital and department policies and procedures, and the hospital's strategic goals. Verbalizes a clear understanding of continuous quality improvement and customer satisfaction measures and actively participates in improvement initiatives. Lead process development/change activities in the facility. Develop Annual PI program and perform program appraisal for hospital. Develop Annual PI program and perform program appraisal for out-patient physician practices locations. Develop Annual UR program and perform program appraisal for hospital. Develop Annual UR program and perform program appraisal for out-patient physician practices locations. Coordinate and oversee review and reporting of data and action plans for Medical Staff PI and Utilization Review Committees. Display and present quality data to the hospital's medical staff, nursing staff, administration and Board of Commissioners. Lead Core Measures performance and accuracy of abstraction of data. Consistent and ongoing evaluation of nursing's clinical knowledge of the rational for each indicator. Ongoing communication with and education of physicians and physician groups providing data and current articles to support participation in and ability to sustain current standards of care. Have eQHealth knowledge and serve in role as QNet administrator. Develop and implement IHI Initiatives, NQF, AHRQ, ICSI, other CMS initiatives. Pursue "Center of Excellence" designations through data evaluation and submission to Quality organizations and Insurance companies. Oversight of Infection Prevention working with reporting of data and participation in trending of issues. Work with departments on identified opportunities, especially MRSA eradication programs. Knowledge of Pharmacy ADE reporting and action plans.and participation in P&T work groups. Oversignt of Patient Advocate working with reporting of data and participation in trending of issues. Work with departments on identified opportunities. Evaluate QI Performance. Evaluate Joint Commission readiness, identify opportunities, and work with departments on identified areas for improvement. Coordinate activities with Risk Management/Safety Officer in Risk Management issues. Knowledge of Regulative Body standards and Conditions of Participation. Participate in identifying opportunities for growth through strong quality and PI programs. Participate in all meetings and workgroups involved with hospital, Medical staff and Nursing staff PI. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth operation of the organization.
