Job Requirements:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in laboratory discipline is required. Completion of a Master's degree in related Science and/or Management is preferred.
Work requires 10+ years of comprehensive laboratory experience to acquire a foundation of knowledge and familiarity with the scope of laboratory operations throughout the entire department. Requires 8 or more years of supervisory experience. Experience establishing and implementing goals and departmental objectives, preparing and implementing complex operating budgets required.
Skills: A high level of analytical ability is required to resolve technical, operational, and administrative problems. Work requires substantial interpersonal skills to function as liaison between hospital leadership, physicians, mediating personnel and departmental problems, facilitating special requests, and serving on various committees. Requires some travel within the metropolitan area.
Participates and directs the specification, design, implementation, and management of multiple projects, meeting work schedules within limited time frames and under tight deadlines. Willingness to work off hours as needed in support of changes to the computing environment. Prepares system design specifications or proposals along with recommendations regarding feasibility.
Certification in Medical Technology, MT(ASCP), or a nationally recognized professional organization, ISCLT, NRM, SBB, HTL(ASCP), CT(ASCP).
Job Description:
Reports to the Department of Pathology Administrator and senior affiliate hospital leadership (Vice President, or Senior Director of Operations or Pathologist Chief). Serves as the on-site JHH Pathology leadership at assigned hospitals. Identifies, plans, and achieves operational and strategic goals/initiatives. Leads and facilitates organizational performance by utilizing a systems approach to analyzing processes, building relationships, managing finances, and facilitating change in a complex environment.
