Job Requirements:

Minimum of Associates degree in Health Information Management, Baccalaureate degree in Health Information Administration preferred. Certified as an RHIT or RHIA and Certified in Healthcare Privacy (CHP) by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) preferred. Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of health information administration. Considerable knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local regulations governing records, privacy, and reporting requirements. Ability to develop and install new or revised systems and procedures to improve health information management, compliance or revenue cycle management. Ability to plan, assigns, and supervises the activities and development of subordinate employees. Job Description:

Director of HIM position open at UMMC. Wonderful management opportunity to lead professional team in Batavia, New York. In this role, the Director plans, directs, and coordinates all activities in the Health Information Management (HIM) Department to provide timely and quality services to the medical staff, patients, families, internal departments, and external organizations/agencies. Identify and analyze area needs and implement solutions to improve or augment the capabilities of existing business processes and computer systems. Serves in leadership role as Privacy Officer to oversee all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to the organization’s policies and procedures covering the availability, confidentiality, and integrity of patient health information in compliance with federal and state laws. Develops budgetary requirements for the department on an annual basis. Primary responsibility for all ongoing activities related to the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of patient health information.
