Director Health Information Management

A. Work Experience: Minimum of five years experience in a hospital setting. Minimum one year experience in leadership role with supervisory responsibilities, preferably in acute healthcare. B. Education: BS degree Business Administration or equivalent knowledge and experience as defined in the position description. C. License, Certification, or Registration required: A.R.T. or R.R.A. certification D. Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, patients, and the general public. E. Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. F. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical/clinical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Responsible for directing and maintaining the functions of the Health Information Management department, within the budgetary and legal guidelines as set forth by the hospital, corporation, medical staff and various accrediting and regulatory organizations. Within the realm of management, assures compliance with regulatory and governmental agencies.
