Job Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or Bachelors degree in a related field required. Masters of Public Health or other health related field strongly preferred.
Licensure and Certification
Current Pennsylvania RN license, if a nurse
Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required. Recertification required every 5 years by testing.
Experience
A minimum of 10 years experience in acute care Infection Prevention, Control, and Hospital Epidemiology.
5+ years of proven managerial experience.3+ years directing/managing an Infection Prevention and Control Program in an acute care hospital, preferably in a system of hospitals.Experience in a large academic medical center highly preferred.
In-depth knowledge of epidemiologic principles, microbiology, infectious disease, sterilization, and disinfection in the prevention and control of infection

Job Description:
The Director of Infection Prevention and Control will provide overall operational leadership for Main Line Health System. This system-wide program will pursue excellence in influencing, supporting, and improving the quality of healthcare through the management of infection prevention and control, education, and the application of epidemiology principles and research. The program accomplishes this through: using proven infection prevention and control expertise, providing consultations, conducting surveillance for epidemiologic significant events, reducing the risks of and preventing health care-associated infections in patients, employees, and visitors, and by ensuring compliance with applicable laws, accrediting agencies, and related professional standards. An essential component of the infection prevention and control program is ongoing implementation and evaluation of the infection prevention and control performance improvement plan.
